Armand de Brignac Gold Brut was the first cuvée introduced to the portfolio and is the flagship. The Cattier family’s ambition during a New Year’s celebration in Chigny-les-Roses was to create the very best prestige cuvée for the 21st century, while still reflecting the rich traditions of winemaking in Champagne. It is in this way that the mastery of blending – vintages, terroirs and grape varieties – is at the essence of Armand de Brignac’s philosophy.

Description

Only including the very first and freshest portion of the cuvée press, in order to produce the very best champagnes possible, is a winemaking signature of Armand de Brignac. This intense selectivity and meticulous attention to detail ensures the juice abounds with vibrant fruit character, soft texture and balanced acidity.

Unique to Champagne, Armand de Brignac is the blending of a trio of vintages. Each assemblage brings together the unique characters from three distinct harvests, while maintaining a powerful lineage from blend to blend.

As the first release from Champagne Armand de Brignac, the Brut Gold remains the most iconic cuvée in the range.

Wine Advocate – 93 Points

Tasted from magnum, the NV Brut (Gold) opens with lovely matured brioche, toast and ripe fruit flavors. Fresh, pure and elegant on the palate, with beautifully matured flavors and an elegant creaminess I don’t find in the other cuvées, the “”Gold”” is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier as well as the vintages of 2009, 2010 and 2012. The wine reveals good grip and mineral tension and drinks well as an aperitif or with seafood and fish. Tasted from L09B8, April 2018
