Christophe Baron, a vigneron from the Champagne region in France, arrived in the Walla Walla Valley in the late 1990s, seeking a place where he could pursue his winemaking dreams. In 1996, he established Cayuse Vineyards, named after the Cayuse tribe of Native Americans who once inhabited the area.
