The Ribbon Ridge AVA is tucked inside the larger Chehalem Mountains AVA, and lately has been the epicenter for many of the most powerful and focused Pinots in the entire Willamette Valley. Ripe and balanced, with spiced cherry and sour plum fruit, this tart, long, silky, full-bodied and supremely complex young wine should age for decades. — P.G. (12/1/2011)

The 2009 Pinot Noir Ribbon Springs Vineyard sports a captivating bouquet of potpourri, brown sugar, clove, sandalwood, and red fruits. With outstanding depth and concentration for the vintage, this lengthy effort will blossom for another 1-2 years and offer prime drinking from 2012 to 2021.

Firm in texture, with a crisp feel to the structure, then playing out ripe blackberry and currant flavors that extend into the long, tightly wrapped finish. Needs to settle in. Best from 2013 through 2017. 270 cases made. –HS
